It is your call whether you want them or not. If you do, get the 4. If you don’t, get the 5. Get the 5 if you are left-handed for the ambi slide stop. If you absolutely can’t survive without front serrations, get the 5 with front serrations. You will hear many people say the 5’s trigger is light years better than the 4’s.

The Gen 5 19 feels smaller in the lower backstrap area where some would place a "grip plug". My hands are only medium size, I wear a size 7.5 wedding band. The Gen5 barrels can't be swapped with Gen4 or any previous generation. In order to simplify agency parts procurement, both the Gen5 17 and 19 share a locking block. This also means the Gen5 G17 recoil spring is also proprietary due to its slightly longer length and the location of the slide lock lever changed.
I have two gen 4 Glock 17's, one personally owned and another department owned. The department one is made in Austria, my personal is made in the USA (it's what was shipped to me). There is absolutely no difference anymore. The metal is exactly the same grade/Rockwell hardness.
